Join us for our next Community Education Series event. This free event will allow members of our community to hear from Kim Campbell, wife of legendary entertainer Glen Campbell who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease in 2011. Kim’s role as her husband Glen’s caregiver was monumental and we are excited for her to share her experiences with us. La Plata residents and everyone from the surrounding area are invited to celebrate with us at our Community Day, a fun-filled day for the entire family from 10:00am – 2:00pm! The event is free and open to the public and will be held at Sagepoint’s main campus (10200 La Plata Road, La Plata, MD 20646). **Please park at the Richard Clark Senior Center**

Education sessions, tours of our new rehab wing, live music, and a variety of hands-on activities for children will all be part of the fun! In addition, we will be  showcasing a “What Community Means” art display contributed by students at Walter. J. Mitchell Elementary School. Free boxed lunches from Panera and Kona Ice will be provided to the first 500 attendees.

We will also be conducting Virtual Dementia Tours, the original and ground-breaking, evidence-based and scientifically proven method of building a greater understanding of dementia through the use of patented sensory tools and instruction based on research conducted by P.K. Beville, M.S., a specialist in geriatrics and the founder of Second Wind Dreams®. Space is limited so be sure to arrive early if you wish to ensure you receive a tour!
